Class Treaty.
Our class treaty is like our class set of rules. It is an agreement that we negogiated with our teacher about the things that are important to us in our classroom. Our treaty helps our class be a safe and supportive place, where our learning is opptimised.

Our class treaty states that we will:
  • Treat other people the way that we would wish to be treated
  • Take pride in the school and our classroom. Leave work spaces clean and tidy
  • Listen carefully to instructions and follow them efficiently
  • Move around safely with considerations for others
  • Think before speaking and acting. Speak appropriately to others.
  • Include people and be welcoming. We are an INCLUSIVE classroom.

Swimming.
There will be no more swimming this term. We will return to our swimming progamme in term 4. For the rest of the term we will focus on different aspects of our Physical Education programme.

Library.
We go to the library twice a week. During one session, we focus on developing the skills we need to use the library to its maximum potentinal. (This is one a Wednesday) On a Tuesday afternoon, we go to the library to browse books, do personal reading, and issue books. It is important for us to either return our books when they are due back, or to renew them if we want to keep reading them.

Home Learning.
We are expected to do at least 20 minutes of reading every night. We record this in our reading log and have someone sign it off for us. Reading logs are available from the school office or we can use a small notebook as our reading log.

Miss Deerness checks our reading log every Friday.

We are also given a home learning challenge every month. This are not compulsory but they are fun and interesting tasks that we can complete at home.

Click here to visit the Home Learning page on our Wiki to download this months Home Learning Task Sheet.

Lunch Orders
We can order our lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. Lunch order menus are available in Room 12.

Travel Wise
We are a travel wise school. We do an awesome job of walking to school, and our teachers encourage us to do so. Even if it is raining or cold, travel smart kids will walk to school. If you would like information on the NPS Walking school buses, please contact the school office.

Class Rules
As well as our class treaty, we have some "Rules" to help us with our learning, and to keep our class looking awesome.
  • No shoes inside. This keeps our class looking beautiful, especially in winter when the ground is wet outside.
  • Keep our desks tidy and organized. This helps us get ready for learning quickly so that our learning time is optimized.
  • We all have to have a water bottle at school. Water is our brain food. It keeps us hydrated and helps us learn!
  • No hats inside. If we wear our hat inside, Miss Deerness can't see our lovely smily faces!!
